BRING OUT YOUR BEST NATURE
Connect with your community and enjoy fresh produce in this beautiful shared space in Yokine.
Built on Trust:
The Mustard Seed Community Garden is just that - built for the community. We allow multiple groups to book the space and allow people to take what they need without guilt or cost. Donations are appreciated, but not required.
Built for Others:
We're a not-for-profit that was established in 2014, with the purpose of bringing together the people of Yokine and surrounding suburbs. We love our community and wanted to create a space worth spending quality time in.
Built to Last:
We believe in sustainability. In addition to holding community gardening sessions, we've also hosted events to promote water usage reduction as well as composting and recycling best practices to sustain our environment.
The garden is a not-for-profit organisation established by Yokine Baptist Church in 2014.
Thanks to grant funding from the City of Stirling, our vision was able to become a reality. The garden was started to share skills, local and traditional knowledge and innovative ways of living sustainably in the local community. Collectively we aim to create a thriving and healthy centre for producing food and providing knowledge and inspiration based on permaculture, ethical principles and design.
We also provide a space for community groups such as nearby childcare centres and the Activ Foundation to come and plant vegetables and herbs and tend to the garden beds. Volunteers that contribute are welcome to harvest whatever is in season for their own use. We even have private garden beds available for rental and exclusive use.
The Garden is open every Wednesday, from 9am to 12pm.
We are also open on the first Saturday of every month, from 9am to 12pm.
